The Summer UKSAF meeting will be held on 5th July 2017 at the Pavilions Teignmouth, our hosts will be Teignmouth Science and Technology Centre (TSTC) and Teignmouth Town Council.
A Young Researchers Day meeting and Data Processing Workshops will be held on 4th and 6th July.
Getting the Most Out of your Instrument
Modern instruments collect data at an alarming rate and have many more options than the previous generation of equipment. The challenge is to harness the full potential available from modern instrumentation. Hence the theme for the summer 2017 meeting is aimed at encouraging exploration and innovation at both the acquisition and analysis phases when performing surface analysis.
One obvious characteristic of modern instruments is improved performance compared to older instruments. XP spectra with extended background regions are now easily available and to illustrate the many uses to which such data can be made a QUASES XPS data processing workshop is offered to those attending the UKSAF meeting.
